I am Guido Smit,

an interim and freelance strategist who helps brands to modernize their marketing and communication activities. 

This means three things:

1. Cut the crap

Focus on effective channels and don’t lose yourself in shiny new tactics. No worries, there’s also room for experimentation and ‘being first’ can sometimes be useful. But don’t let it distract you from proven strategies.

2. Connect brand & performance marketing

The fact that these activities are often spread over different departments, doesn’t mean they cannot reinforce each other. Get together, collaborate and act holistically. And everyone will become more effective.

3. Combine creativity and data

It’s much easier to combine these things than people often think. A renewed way of working that gives room for both disciplines will bring your results to the next level.
